Lots of driving… Namibia through to South Africa

After driving through the Caprivi Strip in Nambia we headed to Etoshi National Park. This was definitely one of the highlight of the trip so far. Animals walking just feet from our car, a crazy dust storm that left our tent a little worse for wear, waterholes galore and incredible star viewing at night.

We then started our trek down south to Cape Town. We drove dirt roads most of the way through Namibia and experienced some of the desert beauty that it has to offer.

Once we got to Cape Town we stopped off at Border Beach to check out the Penguin colony there (I just love penguins!). From there we slowly made our way east along the coast.

We stopped at Tsitsa Falls just north of Maclear for a week. We enjoyed some breathtaking scenery, some good kayaking and a bit of relaxation.

Then we went to discover the beauty of South Africa’s Wild Coast.

Now we are staying by the Umtamvuna valley. Yesterday we went down 44 km in kayaks. The only problem was water, there was barely enough to scrape down so it was a very long day. Next time we run it there will be at least another meter of water.
